Presbyopic patients experience a decline in their ability to focus on near objects, due to a natural loss of elasticity of the lens. It is a common age-related condition, which is usually first noticed with reading deterioration or reliance on reading glasses, regardless of distance clarity.
Treatment for Presbyopia
Presbyopia is most commonly corrected with reading glasses, as well as bifocal or varifocal glasses or contact lenses. Laser refractive surgery provides you with an alternative. Two of the most commonly used laser treatments for presbyopia are LASIK and PRK. Both procedures are safe and highly effective. If you are not suitable for laser treatment we can perform an intraocular lens procedure.
