Myopic patients experience vision that is clear for close objects but blurred in the distance. This is caused by a cornea that is too steep for the length of the eye, causing light rays to focus in front of the retina.
Treatment for Myopia
Myopia is most often corrected with glasses or contact lenses, but laser refractive surgery provides you with an alternative. The two most common laser treatments for myopia we offer at Hunter Laser Vision are LASIK and PRK. Both procedures are safe and highly effective. You will need a consultation to determine if these procedures are right for you. This will depend on a number of factors including your prescription, eye health, age and lifestyle. If you aren’t eligible for LASIK or PRK you may be suitable for one of our intraocular lens-based procedures.
