Our Ophthalmic Surgeons

Hunter Laser Vision was the first Laser Eye Treatment Centre in Australia to use the Schwind ESIRIS laser, with many others following our lead. This state-of-the-art technology combined with the expertise of our eye surgeons ensures our patients get the very best in refractive care. Old technology has no potential for customised treatments and we are committed to achieving the best outcomes for our patients.

We have two ophthalmic surgeons at Hunter Laser Vision. They are experienced and dedicated eye specialists, who regularly attend national and international conferences and maintain international affiliations to stay abreast with advances in laser refractive eye surgery and general Ophthalmology.

Dr Ravi Singh (MBBS Syd, FRANZCO)

Dr Ravi Singh is an ophthalmologist with specialist training in cornea and refractive surgery.  His principle areas of practice are cataract surgery, refractive cataract surgery and laser eye surgery as well as corneal translation surgery.

Dr Singh has been in practice in Newcastle for twelve years where he specialised in cornea, cataract and laser refractive surgery serving the Hunter region during this time.

Dr Tim Ruddell (MBBS Hons, FRACO, FRCO)

Tim trained in ophthalmology at Sydney Eye Hospital and in the United Kingdom. He is a fellow of the Royal Australia College of Ophthalmologists (UK), a foundation member of the Australian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, a member of the International Society of Refractive Surgery, a VMO for Hunter Area Health and lectures in ophthalmology at the University of Newcastle.
